Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy

Today, Scholastic tweeted that Justin Tuck was in the Scholastic house kicking off a campaign for his charity initiative. Justin Tuck is an NFL Pro Bowl and All-Pro defensive end who was drafted by the New York Giants in 2005. He recorded a career best 12 sacks last season and his dominant play in Super Bowl XLII helped lead the Giants to victory against the New England Patriots.

Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy aspires to encourage children to READ, UNDERSTAND, SUCCEED, and HOPE as they continue to nurture literacy in their lives. Founded by Justin and Lauran Tuck, this initiative is committed to raising funds to donate books and other reading materials to enrich youth in the New York and Central Alabama communities. In its inaugural year, Tuck’s R.U.S.H. for Literacy donated over 17,500 books to over 1,500 deserving children.

"I have always felt passionately about literacy and now I am able to do something about it. I cannot be more excited to partner with First Book and help thousands of children throughout the years through education and literacy. I hope you'll join me in supporting the Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy program to bring even more books into the hands of children who need them the most!"

Terrific information on Justin Tuck. I will certainly share this with my younger daughter. She is a die hard Giants fan and will love to read about him.
