The Winner of the June Book Brawl is...

11:13 PM Posted by Lori Calabrese

Our June Book Brawl has officially ended. This month, the judges' score came to 5-1! And the winner is...

Water, Water Everywhere (Sluggers), the 4th book in the Sluggers! series.

This was such a great Book Brawl! I don't know how many people have read the entire Sluggers! series, but if you haven't, hopefully this past month has encouraged you to do so. This was a tough competition because all of the books in the series are wonderful and hard to put down. Each is unique and has something different to offer. But I found the earlier books in the series set the characters and situations up, while the two latest books have more drama and suspense as answers are beginning to unfold.

As I said before, Water, Water Everywhere is a suspense-filled, non-stop adventure. It's by far, my favorite book in the series, yet. The first three books have set the story up so well, that Water, Water Everywhere is full of drama. You're so drawn to the characters by this book, that you can't wait to find out what's going to happen next, and just when you think you're about to find out the truth, you're pulled in again to another adventure. Superb writing weaves you from one mystery to the next and all I have to say is...Bring on Sluggers! 5!!!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to get in the game and vote! Help spread the word about Book Brawl and let's make this month's competition a knock-down, drag-out fight! We'll announce the competitors tomorrow!

About Book Brawl:
Each month, we'll pit two similar books against each other in the upper right hand sidebar. All month, it's up to you to vote for your favorite. (You'll find the poll in the top right sidebar) Let's keep it friendly, but in the comments section, please feel free to explain the reasons for your vote. What did you like about the book you chose as the winner? What didn't you like about the book you didn't vote for?

At the end of the month, the bell will ring, we'll tally up the results and declare a winner! If there are two books that you would like to see pitted against each other, let us know in the comments and your big match-up just might be our next Book Brawl.
