At the HappyNappyBookseller, Doret takes a look at You Never Heard of Sandy Koufax?!.
"If you've never heard of Sandy Koufax, there isn't a better introduction than this book. Loved it. There is so much action in this book it would make a great read aloud. You don't have to be a baseball fan to enjoy it but it may turn a few young people into fans."
The Book Chook has an interesting letter to the Book Chook: Dad won't read aloud.
"Some people just aren't comfortable reading a story aloud. But that doesn't mean they won't be comfortable sharing some other reading-related activities."
Jen Robinson was recently the winner of our Get in the Game--Read book giveaway of Babe Ruth and the Baseball Curse (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)). I was excited to see her review of the book. It makes me want to read it again!
"Babe Ruth and the Baseball Curse offers a nice mix of baseball play-by-play and personal details about the players. Baseball fans will love it, but I think that even non-fans will still find the book interesting. Particularly if they live in New England, where the details of the Red Sox curse and the 2004 World Series are required knowledge for all citizens."
