Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

We have winners left and right here at Get in the Game--Read today!

I'm happy to announce that our randomly selected winner of David A. Kelly's autographed book, Babe Ruth and the Baseball Curse (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)), is Jen Robinson! Congrats, Jen!

Our first Book Brawl has officially ended. It might have been the right jab or even the left hook, but the judges' score came to 3-1! And the winner is...

Way to Go!: Sports Poems by Lillian Morrison.

I have to be honest, I didn't know which way this match-up was going to go. With a name like Jack Prelutsky, people could have voted for Good Sports: Rhymes about Running, Jumping, Throwing, and More just because, but I'm happy to see Way to Go! Sports Poems take home the gold medal because the poems in the book, in my opinion, are so much stronger and capture the true spirit and emotion of sports.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to get in the game and vote! Help spread the word about Book Brawl and let's make this month's competition a knock-down, drag-out fight! We'll announce the competitors tomorrow!

About Book Brawl:
Each month, we'll pit two similar books against each other in the upper right hand sidebar. All month, it's up to you to vote for your favorite. (You'll find the poll in the top right sidebar) Let's keep it friendly, but in the comments section, please feel free to explain the reasons for your vote. What did you like about the book you chose as the winner? What didn't you like about the book you didn't vote for?

At the end of the month, the bell will ring, we'll tally up the results and declare a winner! If there are two books that you would like to see pitted against each other, let us know in the comments and your big match-up just might be our next Book Brawl!
